Do you also work with agencies?
I used to, but not anymore. In ghostwriting agencies, it's often not the writer who conducts client interviews, but someone else on the team. Since many of these individuals lack professional writing experience, the questions they ask often fail to elicit the responses a writer truly needs. Moreover, direct and personal collaboration between the author (you) and the ghostwriter is crucial for creating a quality book. When a third party gets involved, the process can become muddled, making communication more challenging.
Ghostwriting is a delicate and intimate process, where your story must remain the primary focus. You need to feel comfortable opening up to your ghostwriter, and in my experience, having an intermediary—no matter how well-intentioned—can compromise that connection.
But I might in the future if the agency gives me full access to the author and leaves us alone to work together.
